Recycle Your Old Blues
Posted on August 6, 2010 · Leave a CommentWe go through dozens of denims in a lifetime-whether we grow out of them or they become simply too worn to pass off as anything but part of a Halloween costume. What should you do with your old blues? Are they recyclable? You bet.
It looks like we have got to get serious about recycling. Today I have decided to link you to a web site that is a great resource for finding a recycling center in or near your area.
On this web site you can find ways to recycling household items such as, plastic bags, aluminum, glass, and electronics just to name a few.
I make sure that I take plastic bags, bottles, paper etc. to a recycling center. I know it may not be much or all that I can do, but it’s a start. I would also like to know how you take steps to make the planet a little greener.
Check out the web site and let me know what you think.

Dog Day Afternoon

Looking for a pet? Are you a dog person? Well you are in luck because this Saturday is Dog Adoption day at The Ranch. The dogs are from the Honor Sanctuary Animal Rescue and are available for adoption every Saturday. Dogs make the perfect companion when thinking about what type of animal to purchase. They are they type of creatures that can be self-reliant while still needy. These dogs have no homes and have been rescued from some terrible situations. If you want a dog this would be the perfect opportunity to purchase one because rescue dogs are normally way less expensive than dogs bought from the pet store. The Yacht Club Apartments is the perfect place to bring one of these little angels home. They are located in a very pet-friendly part of town and are surrounded by state of the art fully-enclosed dog run/walk parks. If you already have a dog it’s okay they can always use a little brother or sister. So if you are interested in purchasing a little fur ball of your own come out to The Ranch this Saturday!

Get out your blue suede shoes because it is time to party! Saturday is National Dance Day which means you better not be sitting at home on the couch watching television. This is an occasion that is recognized on a national level, so that means that you have to celebrate a long with the rest of America! The city of St. Petersburg is doing things right and decided to throw a little party in honor of this blessed event. No Hitter
Posted on July 27, 2010 · Leave a Comment
Last night was a historic night in baseball for the Tampa Bay Rays! Garza pitched his first No-Hitter and the teams first no-hitter in history. None of the 27 hitters that walked up to home plate were a match for Garza because he was on his game last night. A no-hitter is so hard to come by in baseball so this is a big deal for the Tampa Bay Rays.
Normally the Rays are on the other side of a good pitching game, but last night makes up for any of their past defeats. Garza is such a stand up guy because he admitted that without the help of his team, he would not have been able to pull off such a tall feat. The performance from the team last night persuaded any doubt in my mind that a Ray’s game is my next stop on the activities list. So the next time they are in town you should go out and see them play, you never know Garza might pitch another no hitter. If you want to check out their schedule online. The field is not too far from The Yacht Club apartments!

Do You Have the Pipes?

Singing has always been a dream of mine, the only problem is I can’t carry a note! I always used to be jealous of my friends who had great voices until I was introduced to Karaoke. Karaoke is one of those singing activities where it doesn’t matter so much about your as it does about your stage presence. Now stage presence is something I have a lot of (not trying to brag or anything) so I think it makes up for the lack of vocal skills. Karaoke is the perfect event for getting over the stage fright and having fun!
If you have the guts to show people what you are really made of Perish Grill in Bradenton, FL host karaoke every Wednesday night starting at 9pm. The winner who is voted on by the crowds applause gets a $50 prize. So come out and have some fun and sing your heart out. The restaurant is only minutes from The Yacht Club apartments.

Movie Time
Posted on July 15, 2010 · Leave a Comment
This weekend will be the perfect time to have some fun at the movies. This summer has really surprised me in the movie department and the movie that I am really salivating over is Inception. Inception comes out this Friday July 16, 2010 and of course the geek that I am means I will be standing in line at 12am to see the midnight showing! But that is okay with me because if the movie lives up to the reviews then I will have no regrets. Here is a little synopsis for those of you who haven’t read up on it.
Inception stars Leonardo DiCaprio who plays Dom Cobb, a skilled thief. He has mastered the ability of being able to steal secrets from people’s minds during the dream state. He is an international fugitive and this little skill has costs him everything and everyone that he has loved. He is offered one last job for a chance for redemption. The only problem is that him and his team of very skilled thieves have to pull off the task of inception. Instead of stealing the ideas of his victim, he has to plant an idea in their head.
Hooked yet? Then grab your friends and come on down to the local movie theater in Bradenton, FL. Here are a couple that are premiering the movie.
